No-Drill Photo Frames: Hang Without Nails

Yes. You can hang a photo gallery wall without drilling. Each Framky kit includes self-adhesive hangers and a 1:1 paper template, so you mark the layout, peel, press, and hang in about 15 minutes. No drill, no nails, no holes. Skip adhesives on peeling paint, weak plaster, or heavy stucco. Use 2 nails in the inner corners of each frame instead (nails not included).

How to hang photo frames without drilling

Framky MDF frames hang on self-adhesive hangers. A paper template at 1:1 scale shows the exact place of every frame, so you do not measure the wall.

1. Clean the wall and let it dry.
2. Tape the 1:1 template where the gallery should sit.
3. Mark the hanging points through the template, then remove the template.
4. Peel the backing from each self-adhesive hanger.
5. Press each hanger on its mark for 30 seconds.
6. Hang the MDF frames.

A full kit takes about 15 minutes. Frames without glass are light enough to set by hand. The largest Framky frames (50 x 70 cm) weigh up to 900 g on a sound, painted wall.

When self-adhesive hangers fail

Self-adhesive hangers do not damage the wall when the paint is firmly bonded to the plaster and the plaster is stable. They fail, or they pull paint, in these cases:

• Peeling, chalky, or poorly bonded paint
• Crumbly or weak plaster
• Heavy stucco or a heavily textured surface
• Fresh paint that has not cured
• Wallpaper that lifts as a sheet

If a 24-hour test hanger on a hidden patch lifts paint or plaster, do not use adhesives. Use 2 nails in the inner corners of each frame (nails and screws are not included). You can choose that mount after you order. We then send a template that marks the nail points.
