Framky Framed Photo Galleries

All information about our galleries - sizes, materials, installation methods, and technical specifications. Learn how to create the perfect gallery for your space.

What photo frame colours are available for wall galleries?

We currently produce frames from 15x16 mm MDF profiles available in 6 colors: black, white, rustic oak, beech, silver, gold.

What materials are the picture frames made of?

We handcraft the frames from MDF profiles. They come from renewable resources and have FSC MIX certification, meeting the criteria for responsible forest management.

Do the photo frames have glass protection?

Our frames are without glass – this is a conscious choice to preserve the exceptional print quality. Glass in a frame dulls photo colours and reflects ambient light, causing the print to lose depth and vibrancy. Without glass, colours remain sharp, vivid and true to the original shades – just as they appear in the finest art galleries. This way, your photos present themselves in their full glory, regardless of lighting.

What is the quality of photo printing for framed pictures?

Each photo is automatically corrected for brightness to achieve the best print result. We do not modify the content of the photos – we do not sharpen them or change their composition. All prints are manually checked for colour accuracy. We use pigment printing technology with a set of 12 inks for maximum coverage of the Pantone colour scale.

Can I create a custom picture frame layout for my wall?

Yes! If none of the ready-made products suit you, you can design a custom layout in Framky Studio. It's an advanced editor that allows you to freely create your gallery layout – you can add, remove and move frames as you wish. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us, we'll be happy to propose a custom design for you.

What is included in the photo frame hanging system?

By default, the set includes a hanging template and self-adhesive hangers that allow you to hang the frames without drilling holes in the wall. For some walls (e.g., with weak plaster or uneven surfaces), we recommend traditional mounting – you can then select this option after placing your order. We will then provide a different template that indicates where to hammer 2 nails into the inner corners of each frame to better stabilize the entire composition. Nails and screws are not included in the set – they should be selected according to the wall material.

Do the picture frame hangers stick to every wall type?

The hangers can be used on most walls, but they require a smooth surface. When will they not work? Old plaster - if you suspect that the plaster or paint may be peeling off the wall. Textured walls or brick - their porosity may be too high for the hangers to hold firmly enough. In such a situation, it is best to opt for a purchase with traditional mounting. The template that will be delivered with the gallery has holes where you need to drill to hang the frames straight and evenly.

Will hanging photo frames damage my walls?

Framky adhesive hangers will not damage your wall. When mounted according to instructions, they can be easily removed without damaging the paint. Watch the instructional video on how to properly remove the hangers. We have not observed any paint damage when removing the hangers from the wall when the frames were mounted according to instructions.

Will the picture frame hangers peel off the wall over time?

No, as long as the wall to which they were glued was degreased with the included cloth before attaching the hangers. A lot also depends on the wall - if it has high porosity, is uneven, textured, it is possible that they will peel off after some time. On a sufficiently smooth surface, the hangers will hold for many years. Our frames are light, so they do not burden the hanging system too much.

What tools do I need for hanging photo frames on walls?

The set includes all the elements needed to hang frames. Level, pencil, eraser, damp cloth, hangers, user manual, and hanging template. For traditional assembly: hammer and thin nails.

How to remove picture frames from walls without damage?

Just remove the frame from the wall, hold the hanger strip that sticks to the wall with one hand. With the other hand, gently and slowly pull the green hanger strip until the entire hanger comes off the wall. The strip stretches to up to half a meter. If part of the strip remains on the wall, scrape off with a sharp tool and clean the residue with acetone.

Which rooms are best for photo wall galleries?

It is very important that the gallery is not hung in a location with high humidity. Avoid walls where there is a risk of splashing or contact with water. For better photo quality – image perception, colours, no light reflections – our frames have no glass, and the photos are not separated from the environment, so water droplets and steam can damage them.

Can I order picture frames only without photos?

Framky Galleries are our own solution for printing photos and framing them without glass. This requires gluing the photo to a hard cardboard plate, which we do in the production process. Therefore, it is not possible to purchase frames only. However, we are not limited to photographic prints. You can send a scanned child's work or an artistic poster to the frame.

What are the photo requirements for picture frame printing?

You can upload photos in JPG or PNG format. The application will immediately check the quality of the uploaded photo and indicate whether it will look good in the frame of the given size. The recommended resolution for photo printing is 150-300 dpi.

What types of paper do you use for photo printing in frames?

All photos are printed on matte photographic paper Standard Photographic Matt with a weight of 230 g/m². This professional premium paper guarantees deep, accurate colours and a perfect matte finish that eliminates reflections and highlights every detail of your photos.

Do you offer passepartout mats for picture frames?

Yes, we offer white, ecru, and black passepartouts in sizes from 2 to 7.5 cm. You can enable or disable them for each frame individually in the editing tool. Passepartouts are cut on professional machines and give the gallery elegance and a sophisticated finish.

What is a mount?

A mount is an additional cardboard frame with a window in the chosen colour, inside which the photo is placed. We also offer a modern variant where the mount is not cut from cardboard, but is a coloured margin directly on the printed photo.

Thanks to the mount, the photo gains additional space and an elegant, gallery-like appearance. Available colours: white, ecru and black. You can add it to each frame individually – widths from 2 to 7.5 cm are available.

What makes pigment printing different from other printing methods?

Pigment printing is an advanced photographic printing technology that provides high durability and faithful colour reproduction. We use a set of 12 inks for maximum Pantone scale coverage – thanks to this, every shade is reproduced perfectly. Pigments are characterised by better resistance to fading and light exposure compared to traditional printing methods, which means your photos will retain vivid colours for many years.

Upon receiving the shipment, inspect it carefully. Check for damage, dents, or signs of opening. If you notice anything suspicious, open the package in the presence of the courier. If the product inside is damaged, the courier should prepare a damage report on the spot, in which you describe exactly what and how it was damaged. Returns

Return policy, refunds, and warranty information for photo galleries.

What is the return policy for picture frames?

From the moment you receive the order, you have up to 60 days to return the purchased gallery, provided it has not been installed. Shipping costs are borne by the customer. The shipment must be sent by registered mail so that the customer can receive a shipping confirmation and package number. Keep them until the payment is refunded to your account. Your return will be processed within 14 business days after the package is delivered to us. The money will be refunded to your account using the same method you chose when placing the order. However, if, in our opinion, the gallery shows signs of use, in such a situation, we will not refund the payment, and the package will be sent back to you. You will be informed about this by email.

How to return photo frames for a refund?

Send an email to hello@framky.com with the order number requesting a return. We would appreciate it if you provide a reason. Pack and secure the package with the return form inside. Send the package to one of the return addresses provided on our contact page. You will receive an email notification when we receive your package. We will process your return within 14 business days and refund the money to your account. You will be notified by email after the refund is completed.

How to pack picture frames for return?

The customer is responsible for the condition of the returned product, so it is best if you securely pack the gallery in the original box and seal it with tape, as our packaging is designed in such a way that it does not need additional fillers inside for the frames to be stable. If you no longer have this box, find a replacement box that will ensure that the gallery is properly transported. Fill the spaces, for example, with crumpled newspapers, pieces of paper, or pieces of other cardboard, so that the frames do not move during transport.
